Computer backup
« on: December 02, 2013, 11:38:41 AM »
I restored my computer to factory condition after a crash.  I used the option of backing up files to dvds before continuing.  Now how do I restore these backed up files?  Thanks

So long as they are just data files the job is very simple. Just put your DVD in the drive and open Windows explorer. Click on the DVD drive, and open it to see its contents. Then drag and drop the contents into the folder (i.e., My Documents) in which they were originally located. If the were in a folder you created, recreate that folder and drag and drop into it.  Program files cannot be restored without the software because they need to be installed into the registries in Windows. One of the reasons I love my Mac so much more than Windows.

Well done Obama". - Pendark
