What bird is this?

Lived here 12 years now and never seen these birds before but there were about 8 of them, must be migrating south. All I can say is what a beautiful color they are. This picture I found does not do it justice.

My brain is full. Can I go home now

I think it might be a Steller's Jay but the pics I've found on the internet are not as bright as this one was.

That is defintely a Steller's Jay. The dark cape and markings on the lower wing are a dead giveaway. Beautiful bird!

They're pretty feisty too! I was cleaning the fish pond filter today and one was bitch'n at me like no tomorrow. Guess I'm not allowed in my back yard when he's there.  ;D
