My laptop started having problems, I am running windows vista 32 bit. I ordered the restore disk from HP and the restore went fine until I received a message "WINDOWS COULD NOT COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION. TO INSTALL WINDOWS ON THIS COMPUTER, RESTART THE INSTALLATION". I have gone through the restore process again with the same error. I have also restarted the computer only to get the same message.

Can anyone please help?

Several of the HPs I have done restores on had a restore partition on the hard drive. You might want to check to see if yours does. There is a series of keystrokes you use to access the partition and begin the restore. I would begin by going to HP.com and click on Support and Drivers. Then follow the stages to find out how to restore your machine.

Thanks for your time.... I called HP who directed me to their web support. I then followed those instructions and still received the message. HP wants to charge me $49 to try and fix the issue.
