Gitano,

I think you should see this movie on something other than a laptop.  IMO, it does lose a lot if not seen in a theater.  I really didn't think I was going to like this film, based to some degree on your review.  However, in the end, it was a surprising well told repackage of Dances With Wolves.  My full review is here:  http://alteredegos.net/index.php?topic=8875.0

That was a great review.
Thanks!!   Thumbs Up

It seems that a lot of movies don't transfer to the home screen very well.  I saw Star Trek at the theatre first, then watched it at home...three times!!  If I hadn't seen it first at the theatre, I doubt I'd have bought the DVD - I even went so far as to pay for the Blu-Ray set.

I think you misunderstood what I said. I did not say one should not see the film in the theaters. Certainly, it is well worth doing that. What I said was that I enjoyed the film simply watching it on the computer without the 3-D effects. I do believe that many films have little if anything to offer beyond CGI. Avatar has a great deal in both areas, and, unquestionably, expands the potential of CGI as an entertainment enhancer. I do plan to see the film in the theaters some time soon.
Having reread your review and mine, I cannot find any point of disagreement in our reviews.

I found it more of a remake of Fern Gully rather than Dances with Wolves.  I thoroughly enjoyed Avatar.   Burn it Burn it Burn it Burn it Burn it Burn it
