« on: November 25, 2010, 10:58:14 PM »
 Okay youGuys
what about splicing a ps/2 cables to usb ???? Unfortunely colors of wires dont match. The bought actual PS2 to usb adaptor is $27 or so. I have plenty of usb cables and ps/2 female ends. Hubby has tried several combinations so far. My new Mac not reading it
In other words I want to use my old Gateway wireless keyboard w built in mouse with this new Mac mini.
I am presently typing with it but using the expensive factory made PS/2 to usb cable.
 trying to save money
Has anyone did this.???     Now if I can just learn Safari. Like how to "shut down computer?? Or how to return to my home page. So used to Windows

Thanks all

They do make adapters, but most I have seen go from USB to PS/2. I would check at Radio Shack to see what they have.

the point is dear fellow computer enthusiasts  to use what I have.   I hate spending that much money for something, I dont need
well in the meantime I opened am on sale  a Logitech wireless mouse that was half price this week I believe $13 plus tax. But it is not  ONE want of the unifying ones. My perfectly good Logitech trackball is corded. so I am taking up 2 of the 4 usb ports. I am presently typing again on this old Gateway wireless  KEYBOARD from 1999. using the expensive usb adaptor costing almost $30. just for the adaptor.
Oh by the way finally learned to shut down My Apple via the apple symbol in the corner left top of screen. Yeah for that anyway. Oh plus really had to zoom in to be able to read this site from recliner in LR with glasses. LOL
Thanks
