Inception

I usually agree with Gitano's movie reviews, but in this case I found this movie very difficult to follow and understand.
Some of the scenes were really long and drawn out.  I couldn't tell if he was dreaming, what part of dreaming or if he was in reality.  I was disappointed in this Movie after seeing Leonard DiCaprio in Shutter Island which I thought was excellant.  In Shutter Island it was the ending that was so good but you could figure it out.  In inception I was completely lost and the movie was over my head.  ~---~

spoiler alert.........

Kat, during the major part of the movie the plot included 4 levels of inception (dream states).  Each one was signified by a visual effects change and a change in reality/surroundings.  The lowest/deepest level was the crumbling city near the beach, where his wife had wanted to return to and killed herself to return.

The top level was supposed to be reality, where he taught his trade secrets to the young protege.  However, at the end of the movie we found out that the top level was in fact not reality, but an inception level (dream state) that he was in all along.  In the end, he was in a dream from the start.

I agree with Kat.   I was so lost from the beginning, didn't like it at all.

Thanks, Pavelow for trying to explain it to me.  I'm still confused, it was a very hard movie to follow and understand.  I have talked to different people about this movie and most of them said it was hard to follow.  A few did like it though.  I guess it is just a matter of opinion.

Yep, it was difficult.  I kept track by counting on my fingers. ;D  Another syfy show that was notorious for confusion was SG-1.  They always had parallel universes mixed in with multiple simultaneous realities.  One time there were more than 14 versions of themselves.  I ran out of fingers.

I enjoyed the movie although I must say I was lost for a few minutes here and there but finally figured out what level they were at.

I think Thumb and I had about the same experience watching this film. It is complex and confusing at times. It is a demanding film watch, you have to be willing to be a bit confused as lost as you move through it. That can be a difficult experience. Most people don't like feeling that things are out of their control.

Well done Obama". - Pendark

You see there, that movie was so effective and you were so into it, you actually fell asleep to get into their dreams.  ::)

The question now is, are you awake or are you still dreaming?
